We got our tree!!

We our tree on Friday! Last year we actually went and cut down our own tree it was so much fun. We had to miss this year, J had practice for his game and I went gown shopping with Sharon. (btw I think she found her dress and ours yay). Anyway this year we went to Home Depot. I have to say getting our tree is my most exciting part of Christmas. I am not really a fan of Christmas but something about getting our tree is just so much fun, must be something from when I was little. My dad said that I have always had a real tree since I was a baby. Even when we lived a tiny room in Manhattan. Boy I wish I had pictures of that! Even tho J complains the whole time I know deep down he loves seeing how happy I get when I have my tree.

Here is our tree from last year in our little apartment. We had slanted ceilings, as you can tell from the pics. How we would judge what size tree to get was by my height ha ha. This year no more slanted ceiling!!! So we went with BIG!!

J calls it the National Lampoon tree ha ha.

Now off to wrap the gifts to put under our tree!

Our 1st Thanksgiving!

A little late but hey like they say better late then never right. J and I hosted our 1st holiday! There was 8 of us not a bad turn out for your first holiday. Since it was our first holiday we could not do it the traditional way and cook the turkey for 4 or more hours. J wanted to deep fry the turkey. I have always heard how well the turkey comes out so I was on board. Of course nervous as can be tho. But overall it went pretty well.

bye bye Tom see you in 50 mins

All done!!

"ok that is enough with the freaking pictures"

Yes I have to admit I went a little snap happy, but it was worth it how often to you get to deep fry a turkey.

Anyone who knows me, knows I do not cook I actually hate the idea of cooking. J made the whole thanksgiving dinner. Like I said we could not do things the traditional way J made corn bread stuffing and velvet mashed potatoes . I did chop the onions for the mashed potatoes :). yummy! Next holiday to host Christmas yay!!!
