We got our tree!!

We our tree on Friday! Last year we actually went and cut down our own tree it was so much fun. We had to miss this year, J had practice for his game and I went gown shopping with Sharon. (btw I think she found her dress and ours yay). Anyway this year we went to Home Depot. I have to say getting our tree is my most exciting part of Christmas. I am not really a fan of Christmas but something about getting our tree is just so much fun, must be something from when I was little. My dad said that I have always had a real tree since I was a baby. Even when we lived a tiny room in Manhattan. Boy I wish I had pictures of that! Even tho J complains the whole time I know deep down he loves seeing how happy I get when I have my tree.

Here is our tree from last year in our little apartment. We had slanted ceilings, as you can tell from the pics. How we would judge what size tree to get was by my height ha ha. This year no more slanted ceiling!!! So we went with BIG!!

J calls it the National Lampoon tree ha ha.

Now off to wrap the gifts to put under our tree!

Our 1st Thanksgiving!

A little late but hey like they say better late then never right. J and I hosted our 1st holiday! There was 8 of us not a bad turn out for your first holiday. Since it was our first holiday we could not do it the traditional way and cook the turkey for 4 or more hours. J wanted to deep fry the turkey. I have always heard how well the turkey comes out so I was on board. Of course nervous as can be tho. But overall it went pretty well.

bye bye Tom see you in 50 mins

All done!!

"ok that is enough with the freaking pictures"

Yes I have to admit I went a little snap happy, but it was worth it how often to you get to deep fry a turkey.

Anyone who knows me, knows I do not cook I actually hate the idea of cooking. J made the whole thanksgiving dinner. Like I said we could not do things the traditional way J made corn bread stuffing and velvet mashed potatoes . I did chop the onions for the mashed potatoes :). yummy! Next holiday to host Christmas yay!!!

Happy Birthday to me!

Well 2 days ago lol. I am an Election Day baby. As my mother used to say Regan came in and I came out. We had a little get together at our place for Halloween/Birthday. It was our 1st party so it was very exciting. I didn't take any pictures :( Which is very bad because guess what I got for my birthday from my fabulous hubby. A new camera. I got a Canon PowerShot in pink.

I am such a lucky girl. I really needed a new camera. I got a Sony Cybershot last year but it never took really good pictures. I think it was the model. I did not like the model because it did not have a rechargeable battery. Also at our last summer get together with some friends I was taking some pictures and one of our friends accidentally drop it on the ground. Sony was very good and fixed it for me for free.

I have been reading my book about my camera I am excited to learn new things that I can do with my camera. If anyone has any tips or forums I can join please let me know :)

I am a Matron of Honor!

Well if you remember reading a few posts ago that we went to Sharon and Rob's engagement party. A few weeks later I received the cutest card in the mail. Inside was the nicest poem asking to me be her matron of honor. I was so honored!! I called her right away and said yes of course. I can't wait for the wedding. What a beautiful DIY project!
My sister and I will be Sharon's maids of honor. Which is funny since the last wedding Julie and I were in we both were maids of honor for our good friend Jen.
Thank you Sharon

Update

Well my dear friend Sharon reminded me today that I have not updated my blog. I have been "slacking". But I have a good reason. We moved!!! It happen all so fast. We/I wanted to move since we got married. We were living in a 1 large bedroom apt. upstairs of a cape house which I loved but we just had no space. It was a very large apt but there was no storage. I had all my shower gifts sitting in a corner of our living room waiting to be used. So J found a wonderful 2 bedroom apt. in a gated community couple towns away. One of our friends sister used to live in the same community but moved when they bought a house. While I was at work J went and check out the place, he was cute when he called. He told me it was 2 bedroom plus 2 full bath on the main floor, now we did not have to lug all our groceries upstairs anymore. A washer and dryer and a dishwasher-bonus I hate washing dishes. Also we would have walk in closets. We have access to a outdoor pool, hot tub, children's pool, a gym and a basketball court. The next day I went with J to look at the apt. and of course he was right I loved it, it was exactly what I was looking for. The next week we put a deposit down and waited to get approved. The same week we got approved I went to VA to visit my cousins (I will post about that later). So the day I got back from VA I started packing. I never realized how much we collected over 3yrs. Sharon came over and helped me pack, I tell you the girl is a Saint. I was all over the place. We moved in a little over 2 weeks. I finally got time to take some pics of your new home.

Happy Birthday J

Its my hubby's 29Th birthday today!! This will be the 1st time I get to buy a to my husband card. I am so excited. Lame I know! We are not doing much for his birthday today. Due to the fact that it is a Thursday and he has to work. Usually he gets his birthday off but he switched today for last Friday so we could go upstate. I bought him an IPOD, of course he got it early since he is a brat! I will just run to the store and pick up a key lime pie his favorite. Last night we went out to a Italian restaurant with my dad to celebrate. This morning I ran out and got him breakfast. Tonight we are having Chinese take out. So I think he is eating pretty good for his birthday lol. We will go to his parents on Saturday so I am sure his mom will make a fabulous dinner as usually.

I am extremely lucky to have this man in my life. I sometimes wonder what I did to deserve this perfect man. Happy Birthday babe I hope you have a great day!!! Love you

Funny Friday

Working customer service sure has its kicks. We today I get an order for a part but I need to know what color they need the switch to be. I emailed my customer explaining I received their order and I understand they need to receive it in 2 days, but I need to know the color of the switch they are ordering. I explain they come in Red, Green, Yellow, Blue and White. Well about 20 mins later I received an email back they would like it in BLACK. LOL

If you laugh at this you will defiantly laugh at this http://notalwaysright.com/

The New Me!

On Tues July 29th I decided to do the new thing called "The Newlywed Chop". The best way to explain the newlywed chop is that you grow your hair out for so long for your wedding, now that the wedding is over you can cut it. Anyone who know me knows that I would never cut my hair. The only time I have ever had it short was when I was about 6 yrs old up until 11. When I was little my mom made me have it short because I always cried when she was brushing it. I remember that day as if it was yesterday when my mom took me for that hair cut.

after 16 years of having it no shorter then my shoulders....

Over 10" cut off!
Not the greatest picture!
The best part of getting this hair cut was I was donated it to Locks of Love. I also got a free hair cut. The salon that cut my hair does not charge you, since you are doing a nice thing. A few or my friends have seen the new do and seem to like it on me. After they get over the shock lol. I like but I am not sure how long its going to last. I would to cut it again and donate it.

Weekend

This is my first trip away without J as my husband. It was very sad saying goodbye to him. I know it was just weekend and I have been away without him since we have been together, but I just felt different now that we are married. Something I just can't explain. So off I went to PA for an all girls weekend with Jenn, Olivia and Ella. We went to Knoebles amusement park. We had such a blast. We laughed the whole weekend. Of course I left my camera in the car, luckily Jenn had hers. I have to show off my adorable niece. I love being a Aunt and hearing the words Aunt Mary!

Olivia and Ella on the 1st ride in the park

Her 1st ride all by herself!

Ella loved all the rides. All she keep saying was rides rides rides.

Ella was great the whole weekend. She was so funny, one of the funniest things she said during the weekend was we were out to eat for lunch as our meal comes to the table and we start to eat Ella says "So how is it guys?" So funny to hear that from a 2 1/2 year old.

I am so happy I got the experience to see her really enjoy the rides. We went to The Land of Make Believe last year but she was a little to small. Jenn plans to take her to disney next year I wish J and I could go :( But I am sure Grandpa will take enought pic that we will feel like were there ha ha.

I love you Ella xoxo
